About the Veterinary Technician Program
Muscatine Community College introduced its Veterinary Technician program in 2008. The Veterinary Technician program meets the Associate in Applied Science degree requirements for individuals entering the job market with the skills to perform a variety of functions as entry level registered veterinary technicians (VT).
The VT is an important member of the veterinary health care team who has been educated in the care and handling of animals, the basic principles of normal and abnormal life processes and in routine laboratory and clinical procedures.
During the Vet Tech Campus Visit on December 7, students will hear from the Vet Tech advisor and learn the steps it takes to be admitted to the Vet Tech program, they will see and tour on campus apartments, learn about campus resources. They will then go to the state-of- the-art Vet Tech facility and see the hands-on laboratory where all of the Vet tech classes are taught.
