Clinton Community College offers a wide variety of opportunities for students wishing to participate in students activities. These activities can help round out your education as well as provide a break from studies and a chance to meet new friends.

Skills Shop and Peer Tutoring
Attention all students! Do you want to play the game to win, the college game, that is)? If so, there's FREE help. The Skills Shop, Room 104, can help you with your assignments, your papers, your homework and your study skills. Do you have trouble managing your time, dealing with huge amounts of reading materials, preparing for or taking tests? Drop into the Skills Shop, Room 104, and one the staff or peer tutors will make you glad that you did. Posted schedules give the days and times when someone is available to help you. The secret to getting a good start is getting an early one, so find out soon what you need to do, and let the Skills Shop staff help you in the process.
The tutors are Clinton Community College students who are available to help you with your studies, particularly if you're running into some rough spots. Peer Ambassadors
This organization provides current students with an opportunity to meet new people, establish friendships, and gain experience in a leadership role. Peer Ambassadors are an essential element to the community college. They greet potential students on campus and spend time giving campus tours and making the potential student feel welcome. Activities include: Friday visits, monthly leadership and skill-building meetings, and participating in other campus activities as a representative of our college. Advisor: TBA
Small Group Sessions
Come discover how you learn so you can make the most of your time class and your study time. Also discover where you should study. Learn specific ways to study using your personal learning style. Receive handouts that can help you study efficiently and effectively. Learn some tips on how to reduce stress and make efficient use of your time while juggling your roles as student, employee, family member, etc. Learning test-taking skills, which are related to your learning style and attitude toward taking tests of different types. Small Group Sessions on Learning Styles, Study Skills, Time and Stress Management, and Test-Taking tips are held each semester. These Sessions are 30 minutes in length. TLC - The Leadership Connection
The Leadership Connection was established to increase awareness within the student body of the many opportunities available on campus; to provide leadership training; to enhance the unity of the clubs/organizations on campus; and to magnify the student body's involvement in ongoing campus activities. TLC sessions are held the first Tuesday of the month (October, November, February, March and April). Each session focuses on a different topic. Topics may include, but are not limited to motivation, time management, diversity, grou0p dynamics and much, much more. Sessions are open to ALL students. Come and join the fun! Student Senate
Would you like to make a difference on Campus? Be a member of the Student Senate. The Senate plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of events and activities throughout the year. This active, viable organization provides students with a positive educational and fun atmosphere on and off campus. Senators attend workshops and conferences throughout the State promoting Clinton Community College and gain valuable leadership and networking opportunities. Be sure to watch for your monthly calendar that highlights all the upcoming activities and events on campus!

Sports
Clinton Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCCA) and the Iowa Junior College Athletic Association. Sports at CCC are Basketball (men), Volleyball (women) & Cheerleading (women/men). To be eligible to participate in intercollegiate sports, a student must be doing passing work at all times in at least 12 semester hours of course work in the previous semester of college attendance and must have a minimum of 1.75 GPA. To be eligible for a second session of competition, a student must pass 24 semester hours with a 2.0 GPA.

To be eligible for Cheerleading, a student must be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours of course work and hold a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.

Intramurals
There are a wide variety of intramural sports offered to Clinton Community College Students. All sports are offered for both men and women. Some of the sports offered are: Mixed Volleyball…Flag Football…Basketball…Tennis Tournaments…Ping Pong… Billiard Tournaments. Drama/Fine Arts Club
This club promotes the theatrical, literary and art work talents of our college community. These talents are displayed in several different venues, i.e. plays, open houses, art shows and concerts. Advisor: Debi Van Sant, Office 100
Journalism - The Gallery
The purpose of this club is to publish the College newspaper. The publication board meetings are held regularly each month. The paper is published monthly. Membership is open to all students especially those who want to report and write the news; students who want to freelance and expressive creative writing, advertising, write headlines and design the paper. S.N.A.P (Student Networking and Programming Club)
S.N.A.P fosters a better understanding and knowledge of computer networks and the networker's role. In an effort to promote the computer world, this Club actively participates in field trips, fund raising projects, conferences and brings guest speakers to campus. Advisor: Glenn Williams, Office 156D
Drafting Club
The Drafting Club fosters pride in the profession of drafting, keeps members abreast of new developments in the field, and increases their knowledge in the Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design (CAD) areas. Membership is open to any person enrolled in the two year Technical Drafting and CAD Program. A scholarship is available to any student who has successfully completed the first two semesters of the program and was a member of the club during that time! Th/ink
Have you ever wanted to have your "works" published? Then the Th/ink Club is for you! Th/ink is a club that promotes original poems, stories and artwork by member of our College community. Members actively participate in the publication of the Th/ink magazine, i.e. journalism, editing, layout, and printing.

Graphic Arts/Printer Club
The purpose of the Graphic Art Printers Club is to promote the printing industry and the college to other students and the public. Membership is open to all students willing to work as a team. Activities include speaker presentations and field trip.

Nursing Club
The purpose of this club is provide a vehicle through which the freshmen and sophomore students can interact and work together as a group. Membership is open to freshmen and sophomore nursing students. Members organize group meetings for nursing students, attend nursing conferences workshops, and participate in field trips related to nursing and health care. Phi Beta Lambda
The purpose of this organization is to promote professionalism among business students and encourage development of business leaders outside the classroom. Members may attend state, regional and national leadership conferences. Locally, PBL participates in a variety of school and community activities. gain the competitive edge, join PBL!

Is an honorary fraternity for the recognition of academic achievement. Membership is earned by qualifications, honor and service.
