250 Businesses Every Year Turn to One College for Employee Training

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) provides employee training for roughly 250 area businesses every year. That makes EICC a key part of the economic development of every community throughout our Eastern Iowa region… and another reason we are THE Community’s College!

Local Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development groups work closely with the college in retaining current businesses and attracting new ones. EICC is often at the table when new manufacturers are being recruited to the area.

Many businesses will tell you one of the main reasons they chose to locate here iInstructor and Student at CNA Machines because of the readily-available training opportunities provided through EICC. That training is not always as available in other states across the country.

Training is delivered through the college’s Business and Industry Training Solutions department. Employers have the choice of sending their workers to classes currently offered through the college or to customized training designed specifically for the company’s needs. That training can be delivered either at the company site or at the college’s facilities.

Funding through the State of Iowa’s Iowa Industrial New Jobs Training and Iowa Jobs Training Programs is also available for new and expanding businesses.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Counseling services for small businesses, often free, is available through the Small Business Development Center, companies can keep their discarded by-product out of the landfills with free help from the Iowa Waste Exchange and much more.

The information about these programs and more is available on the Business Services webpage or give us a call at 1-888-336-3907.
