“I like the idea that I’m helping someone, not necessarily to become better or do better, but to do something they’ve always dreamed of doing or maybe just trying a new career, and I can tell them that I also came from there.”

Here's a few more details about our Truck Driving program.

Here's some links to help you study for the Commercial Learner's Permit test:

Get a DOT physical before taking your Commercial Learner's Permit test, and be prepared to provide that documentation to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Call Alltest at 563-326-5855 to schedule your physical. It will cost you $85 unless you are working with an agency that will pay it for you. Alltest is located at 4711 N. Brady St., #3 (Walnut Center).

After you get your DOT physical, test for your learner’s permit at the DMV. Take the General Knowledge, Combinations, and Air Brakes tests. Pass and pay $12 for your permit. Before you leave the DMV, request a Certified Abstract of Driving Record, which costs $7.

Submit documentation showing you completed the test and your Certified Abstract of Driving Record to the EICC Truck Driving program manager for review.

Before starting class, schedule a DOT pre-employment drug screen with Alltest. The test must be done, and results received within seven working days of the start of class. The screening costs $55. On the first day of class, EICC staff will show you how to sign up for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse to see your results for your driver file.

Begin anytime! Classes begin approximately every six weeks throughout the year.

If a training provider is paying your $5,700 tuition, they will assist you with registration.  If you are paying for the program, register online or by phone:
