Program Description for IT - Programming

The Information Technology (IT) department offers an Associate in Applied Science (AAS.) Degree with emphasis in programming and/or networking.

In the Software Development (Programming) Concentration, students obtain extensive hands-on experience writing programs using Visual Basic, C++/C#, and Java. They develop websites using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and PHP; and they work with databases such as Access, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

Job Outlook for IT - Programming

Employers continue to seek computer professionals with strong programming, interpersonal and business skills. The Occupational Handbook lists these jobs as growing faster than (average 18-30% growth) between the years of 2010 and 2020.
