Paul B. and Dorothy Sharar had "a vision of
education as the way people learn to live more useful
lives for themselves and for their fellow citizens, so they
feel the joy of accomplishment above and beyond the
common-place that might have been."
The Paul B. Sharar Foundation for Clinton Community
College provides
monetary and
advisory support for students, faculty, and college programs.
Through the leadership of the Foundation Board of Directors, the
mission and needs of the college are made visible to the community
and to business and industry.
Named after the first Dean of Clinton Community College, the Paul
B. Sharar Foundation supports the students, programs, faculty and
staff at the college. The 28-member Board of Directors is
responsible for encouraging, receiving and administering all
contributions.
Each year the Sharar Foundation awards more than 120 scholarships
to deserving Clinton Community College students. These scholarships
are awarded to recent high school graduates as well as
nontraditional students who are returning to college to continue
their education. All students are encouraged to apply for
scholarships. Application deadlines are April 1 and November 1.
Supporting college programs through equipment purchases and funding
for staff development are also priorities of the Sharar Foundation.
A Sharar Foundation Educational Grant program funds faculty and
staff continuing education. In addition, the Sharar Foundation
coordinates Business/Industry class tours within the community.
The Paul B. Sharar Foundation is located on the Clinton Community
College Main Campus. For more information, contact Ann Eisenman,
Executive Director, 563-244-7040 or aeisenman@eicc.edu.
