Scholarships –In 2010-11, scholarships totaling more than $140,000 were awarded to Clinton
Community College students. These awards range from $100 to
Full-Tuition amounts.
Opportunity
Grants - In 2008, the Paul B. Sharar Foundation and
the Eastern Iowa Community College Board of Directors approved the new Opportunity Grants which assist students with up to $500 of
tuition, fees and books to continue their education working toward
an Associate’s Degree.
Room 139 – The Sharar Foundation
assisted with funding to renovate Room 139 which is used for classes, workshops,
events and programs. Additional funding was provided by the Clinton County
Community Development Association, the B-rrry Scurry Race and CCC.
CCC Learning Center – With funding
from the Eastern Iowa Community College District and the Clinton
County Community Development Association, in 2007 Clinton Community
College purchased and remodeled a building located at 944 Lincoln
Boulevard which now houses the Adult Basic Education and Continuing
Education departments.
CCC Technology
Center Conference Center – In 2005, Funding
from private donors, Alliant Energy Foundation, the Clinton County
Community Development Association and the Paul B. Sharar Foundation
was used to outfit the CCC Technology Center Conference Center with
up-to-the minute technology. The Conference Center is used
daily for business trainings, community events, and college
classes.
GED Awards
- In 2003, the Paul B. Sharar Foundation and the Eastern Iowa
Community College Board of Directors approved an agreement to offer
each graduate of the EICCD GED program a three credit hour
scholarship with a goal of encouraging GED graduates to continue
their education working toward an Associate’s Degree.
In 2004, the GED Scholarship was expanded to include the first
three credit hours or the equivalent cost of a program that would
lead to immediate employment.
Educational
Grants – Faculty and Staff at Clinton
Community College can apply for educational grants to further their
education. The $600 awards strengthen the quality of programs
offered at Clinton Community College.
Virtual
Lab – A partnership with Title III Funds,
Alex Grayes, the Armstrong-Curtis Foundation, EICCD and the Paul B.
Sharar Foundation, the Virtual Lab is a state-of-the-art technology
center used by all departments of the college. Designed for
collaborative learning, the Virtual Lab features state-of-the-art
technology and features that facilitate classroom interaction and
more readily engage students in learning.
Auditorium Remodeling – In a joint
partnership with the Clinton County Gaming Association, B-rrry
Scurry, Student Senate and the Sharar Foundation, a face-lift of
$122,000 was completed bringing the much-used Auditorium into the
21st Century.
Newsletter – The quarterly
newsletter, “Foundation Footnotes”, is combined with
the “Alumni Associate” to offer friends and graduates
of Clinton Community College an update of happenings on campus.
Business & Industry Tours –
Designed as a way to introduce students to the local business
community and to introduce local opportunities to Clinton Community
College students, the Business & Industry Tours have been well
received throughout the community.
