Scott Community College's 45th Celebration

Scott Community College, founded in 1966, celebrated 45 years of delivering quality educational services that strengthen the community on October 13, 2011 at the Waterfront Convention Center.  The evening featured a delicious culinary dinner, a silent auction, a wine raffle, and inspiring stories of Scott Community College then and now.  The Foundation was able to raise at this event $15,000 for scholarships.  

The Scott Community College Foundation, have seen firsthand how this college has impacted the Quad Cities. There are more than 100,000 alumni, 75% of whom continue to work, live and give back to the Quad Cities community. For some, their dream of furthering their education was only possible through the scholarships the Foundation has been able to award.

With only 41% of Scott Community College students receiving federal and state aid, this leaves a significant number of the more than 8,000 students that Scott Community College serves each year with little or no financial assistance. The other 58% of deserving students should have an opportunity to receive help with their educational needs as well. This is where student scholarship assistance is most needed.

This dinner was both a celebration and an opportunity to make an investment that stays right here in the Quad Cities.
