In 2005, the Eastern Iowa Community College District Foundation was established to support initiatives that benefit the entire district. The foundation is primarily focused on support for Continuing Education-related programs and the community college's role in economic development and job training.

Although it is still in its fledgling stage, the foundation is proud of the impact it has been able to make in its first years.

The ice rescue training at the Midwest Center for Safety and Rescue Training is just one of the programs that benefits from support of the EICCD FoundationSome of its efforts to date include financial assistance to students in Adult Basic Education/GED programs; acquisition of materials and equipment for learning centers such as the Blong Technology Center, the Midwest Center for Safety and Rescue Training, and the Career Assistance Center; and supplemental funding for the Eastern Iowa Small Business Development Center.

Through the foundation's subsidiary Union Building Company, it has also been able to move quickly to acquire property that benefits the district, such as a parcel of Riverdale land beneficial to the new road at Scott Community College, and the former Wacky Waters property in north Davenport that is now the safety and rescue training center.

The colleges of
Eastern Iowa
Community College District have a strong tradition of providing scholarship and other financial assistance
to our students and campus communities.

Each of the
three college
foundations raises
and distributes funds that provide access
and enhanced
educational
opportunities to hundreds of
students each year.
