What is Career Link Essentials+?
An employment readiness program offered through Eastern Iowa Community College District in partnership with area employers.
What does Career Link Essentials+ offer?
An opportunity for individuals to receive training essential to obtaining employment.
Participants will be awarded:
1. Career Link Competencies Certificate - Awarded to individuals based on their Work Keys scores after completing assessments in:
-
Locating Information
-
Applied Math
-
Reading for Information.
2. Career Link Essentials Certificate – Awarded to those who successfully adhere to the strict attendance policy and complete either one of the following:

| A (56) hour training program that runs four nights a week for four weeks. | |
| ▪ 10-Hour OSHA Safety Certificate Program |
▪ Behaviors in the Workplace |
| ▪ Computer Basics |
▪ Intro to Blue Print Reading |
| ▪ Communication | ▪ Teamwork |
| ▪ Quality & Problem Solving | ▪ Math & Measurement |
| ▪ Time Management / Career Exploration & Assessment |

| Non-Manufacturing Career Link Essentials | |
| A (32) hour training program that runs four days a week for two weeks. (Pre requisite – Essentials Competency Certificate) | |
| ▪ Behaviors in the Workplace | ▪ Computer Basics |
| ▪ Communication | ▪ Teamwork |
| ▪ Time Management/Career Exploration & Assessment | ▪ Quality & Problem Solving |
3. Career Link Essentials+ Certificate - Will be awarded to those successfully completing short term certificate programs. Scholarships are available for those meeting eligibility guidelines. There are also specific requirements for entry into each program.
