What is Career Link Essentials+?
An employment readiness program offered through Eastern Iowa Community College District in partnership with area employers.  

What does Career Link Essentials+ offer?
An opportunity for individuals to receive training essential to obtaining employment. 

Participants will be awarded: 

1. Career Link Competencies Certificate - Awarded to individuals based on their Work Keys scores after completing assessments in:

  1. Locating Information
  2. Applied Math
  3. Reading for Information.

2. Career Link Essentials Certificate – Awarded to those who successfully adhere to the strict attendance policy and complete either one of the following:

Manufacturing Career Link Essentials
A (56) hour training program that runs four nights a
week for four weeks.
▪ 10-Hour OSHA Safety
Certificate Program
▪ Behaviors
in the Workplace
▪ Computer Basics 
▪ Intro to
Blue Print Reading
▪ Communication ▪ Teamwork
▪ Quality & Problem Solving ▪ Math & Measurement 
▪ Time Management /
Career Exploration & Assessment

Non-Manufacturing Career Link Essentials
A (32) hour training program that runs four days a
week for two weeks.
(Pre requisite – Essentials Competency Certificate)
▪ Behaviors in the Workplace     ▪ Computer Basics  
▪ Communication ▪ Teamwork           
▪ Time Management/Career Exploration & Assessment  ▪ Quality & Problem Solving

3. Career Link Essentials+ Certificate - Will be awarded to those successfully completing short term certificate programs. Scholarships are available for those meeting eligibility guidelines. There are also specific requirements for entry into each program.

(Pre requisite: Manufacturing Career Link Essentials Certificate)

Non-Manufacturing Certificate Programs
(Pre requisite – Non-Manufacturing Career Link Essentials Certificate)
● Nurse Aide ● Clerk/Receptionist
● Customer Service ● Medical Transcription
● Child Development Associate ● Home Care Aide
● Food Service/Dietary Manager  ● Pharmacy Technician
● Accounting Assistant
