Assistance In
Recruiting Qualified Applicants
Whether you need to add several hundred people to your work force
or are trying to find the right person to fill a single opening at
your company, the Iow@Work (formerly Eastern Iowa Job Training)
program can help. Working together with our partners in the Iowa
Workforce Development Center, we can assist you in developing job

Assistance In
Screening Applicants
One of the toughest decisions facing an employer today is the
choice of the right employee for the job. The Iow@Work (formerly
Eastern Iowa Job Training) program assists employers with testing,
assessment and other applicants screening services.

Customized
Training
Working together with EICCD and other training providers, our
programs can assist you in designing customized short-term training
to prepare your new workers by training them in the specific skills
you need. This can be done at no cost to you when you hire from
among pre-qualified persons who are eligible for this type of
training.
Our short-term manufacturing program in Jackson County is an
excellent example of this type of training.

On-The-Job
Training
Bringing a new employee up to full productivity requires time and
training. Even the best candidate will need extra guidance and
supervision during their first months on the job. The Iow@Work
(formerly Eastern Iowa Job Training) program can assist employers
in offsetting the extra cost of this training and supervision
through an on-the-job training (OJT) contract. With an OJT, the
employer can be reimbursed for 50 percent of the new employee's
wages during the time they are being training.
Eligibility for these services is based on the new employee being a
participant in the Iow@Work (formerly Eastern Iowa Job Training)
program.

Assistance In Securing
Tax Credits
In an effort to make it more attractive for employers to hire
eligible individuals, the federal government has enacted a tax
credit that can be applied to corporate earnings. The Iow@Work
(formerly Eastern Iowa Job Training) program, in cooperation with
the Iowa Workforce Development Center, can assist employers in
identifying eligible individuals in processing requests or these
tax credits.
