Be prepared to apply for jobs in highway construction as a flagger! One-day training includes tests which will certify you for the state of Iowa, as well as nationally. Students receiving Iowa certification will be valid for approximately two years and the national certification will be good for four years.

Highway Construction Training for Women & Minority Males
Training is available to women and minority males in Highway Construction. There is limited cost to you except your time and a willingness to work in highway construction.
Participants will have the opportunity to obtain FREE National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification in core construction which includes basic skills in blueprint reading, safety, hand/power tools and introduction to the computer.
Participants may also have the opportunity to obtain low-cost state/national certification in flagging AND possibly a class A-Commercial Driver License for a reduced tuition cost.
There are a limited number of CDL slots available and applicants are subject to evaluation of background and driving record to determine if enrollment in CDL training is appropriate.

Iowa’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training programs are offered by the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. All college training takes place at the Blong Technology Center, 8500 Hillandale Road, Davenport, Iowa. This training is also available for companies on-site. Classes offered are Annual Refresher (Part 46 and Part 48), New Miner Part 46, and New Miner Part 48.

Two different modeling options are available for students; Pro Engineer Parametric Modeling and SolidWorks Parametric Modeling. Both of these are certificate programs within our two-year Mechanical Design degree program.
The certificate programs are delivered in a hybrid format with the class work online and a hands-on lab component available at Clinton and Muscatine Community Colleges, and the Blong Technology Center.
