Dispelling Myths

Gas-Saving Devices and Products

The federal government and the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) have NOT approved any
gas-saving device or product. Evaluations have found
that many of these products actually damage your
car’s engine and increase emissions.

Devices that are NOT approved include:

  • signAir bleed devices
  • Vapor bleed devices
  • Liquid injection products
  • Ignition devices
  • Fuel line heaters, coolers, and magnets
  • Mixture enhancers
  • Internal engine modifications
  • Accessory drive modifiers
  • Fuels and fuel additives
  • Driving habit modifiers

Global Warming

The Kyoto Protocol does NOT require all nations to reduce greenhouse gas levels. Greenhouse gas levels have been scientifically linked to global warming and climate change.

Nations that signed the Kyoto treaty negotiated separate terms. Some can even increase their levels, such as Australia and Norway. China and India are exempt from restrictions even though their outputs have increased dramatically over the past few years.

The United States is not bound to comply with the signed protocol because the treaty was never submitted to the Senate for approval.
