Hall of fame shortstop Ozzie Smith will serve as the honorary coach at a baseball skills clinic at Davenport's Modern Woodmen on Sunday, Aug. 22.

The clinic is scheduled for 2:30-4 p.m. and precedes a speech by Smith that is part of the Eastern Iowa Community College District Viewpoint Distinguished Speakers Series. Thanks to the Scott County Family Y and the Bechtel Foundation, entry to the clinic is $25 and includes a T-shirt and a ticket for both the participant and an accompanying adult to the clinic and Smith's presentation that begins at 5 p.m.
