
| 7:30 a.m. | Guided Bird Walk Bring your binoculars and join avid birders on an early morning birding adventure. Participants meet at the visitor center and leave promptly at 7:30 a.m. with their leaders. Dress for the weather so you don’t miss the fun! |
| 9:15 a.m. | Beginning Bird Identification Guided by Keith Blackmore, a retired ornithology teacher from Highland College. He has led many birding trips around the U.S. and will share his knowledge on improving bird identification skills. |
| 10:45 a.m. | Trumpeter Swans Led by Mark Roberts, Education Coordinator with Clinton County Conservation Board, He headed up the Clinton County Trumpeter Swan reintroduction effort for nearly 10 years. |
| Noon | What is Geocaching? Pam Steinhaus, Visitor Services Manager of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, will discuss geocaching, a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. If you like hiking, biking or sightseeing, geocaching can provide you another adventure to these activities. It's a great way to discover the natural beauty, history, get some exercise, and enjoy the thrill of finding hidden "treasure!" You will learn all the basics about geocaching while operating a GPS unit as you migrate around the refuge and locate caches or complete planned activities. GPS units will be provided. |
