Technology Center

At it's April, 2008, meeting, the Eastern Iowa Community College District Board of Trustees approved the renaming of its Graphic Arts Technology Center to the Clinton Community College Technology Center.

“The Graphic Arts Center has served our college and our community well over the last 13 years," said  Clinton Community College President Dr. Karen Vickers. "We believed that due to the increased programming of the center and the variety of uses of the building that the new name - the CCC Technology Center - would be more descriptive for the building."

The technology center was opened in 1991 as a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the printing and graphic arts industry. It was the first center of its kind in the United States and continues to be a unique resource for Clinton Community College’s students and business clients.

The 24,000-square-foot facility houses three credit programs and the college’s Business and Industry Center.

Business and Industry Center
Clinton Community College’s Business and Industry Center professionals work closely with area employers to provide them with customized training to meet their specific needs. Training is available both at the technology center as well as on location at the employer’s place of business.

Graphic Arts Technology
The college’s Graphic Arts program provides opportunities for students interested in careers in graphic design and website development.

Mechatronics
Clinton Community College’s new Mechatronics program was moved to the technology center in 2007 thanks in large part to a $366,000 grant from the state of Iowa’s Accelerated Career Education fund.

Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design
The college’s drafting program has a 40-year tradition of excellence. The program is continually updated and recently added a new Geographic Information System (GIS) training option.
