You or your employer determine what best suits the job. The degree requires 24 credits of technical core, 22 credits of technical electives, and 18 credits of general education courses. You are the one who decides what those will be and, with self-paced programming, you decide when.
Self-paced programming is a flexible delivery format allowing students to attend the center when it is convenient for them. This replaces traditional lecture with a “Learning Center” environment.
You follow a guided-learning packet that uses video tapes, CD-ROM’s, internet, textbooks, and written materials instead of a lecture. Once you have completed the theoretical portion in the Learning Center, you move to the labs for hands on application. (You will spend lots of one-on-one time with the instructor in the skills lab.) You can progress through the material at your own pace and you can begin and end based upon your time frame.
