SCC Men’s Soccer Team would like to introduce the following players that have made commitments to attend and play soccer in the Fall 2012:
- Bryce Sellers, North Scott
- Bryce was a three year Varsity player that will bring some versatility and speed to the SCC defense. He is a very good defender on crosses and transitions to offense quickly. Bryce is an aggressive defender that tackles strong.
- Mario Alverez, Muscatine
- Mario played two seasons at Muscatine High School and had 12 goals per season. Mario has very good technical skill and field vision. He has shown good ability to get up and down the outside of the field and very good endurance.
- Jullian Sodawasser
- Jullian is a very strong aggressive player with good tactical understanding of the game. He posses a very strong work ethic and willing to play anywhere.
- Jacob Kock, Muscatine
- Jacob has to sit out last season in part to a knee injury but upon his return he will sure up the center mid with his field awareness and movement off the ball. He shows good leadership qualities and good technical skill, as well as good decision in the final third.
- Dionis Serrano, Davenport Central
- Dionis is a very fast, strong defensive player. He can play either left or right defensive back and has the versitility to play as an outside midfielder as well, states his head coach Kevin Peteresen
- Colin Hepner - Orion High School
- Colin recorded 8 shutouts as a Junior for a team that went 14-6 & 5. His Senior year he led the area with 11 shutouts for a team that went 18-5 & 3 setting a new school record in victories. Colin was a Captain of the team his Senior year. Both years Colin was selected to the All Area team.
- Daniel Koffi, UTHS-Forward
- Daniel is a very versatile player that will help in all positions on the field. Phil Weaver, Head Soccer Coach at UTHS stated, “Daniel is a strong, robust quick forward and established himself quickly on the varsity team after transferring from Moline High School. He scored 14 goals and 10 assists in two seasons. He plans to study Radiology while at SCC.
- Nieko Summers, UTHS-Midfielder
- “Nieko is a versatile midfield player who can also play in the attack or defense, and established himself quickly as a Varsity team member,” states Phil Weaver, Head Coach UTHS. Nieko will bring much needed speed to the team. He has a very strong work ethic and leads by example. During his senior year he had a goal and three assists. Nieko will be studying Engineering with a focus on Reusable Energy.
- Gregary Davis, RIHS-Midfielder
- Gregary is a very fast, quick, strong central midfielder. He is very creative in one on one situations and posses good field vision. Gregary will help with counter attacks and breaking down defenses. He had six goals and six assists as well as being named to the first team All-Conference and All-Metro team his senior year.
- Gustavo Gayton, Columbus Community High School-Forward
- Gustavo is a strong technical player with good field vision and movement off the ball. Gustavo will help on the offensive side of the field as he brings to SCC 12 goals and 15 assists as senior. Gustavo “Gaytan was a captain in the team, he showed caracter in every aspect of it, he was a role model for his teammate due to his leadership. He can play midfielder or forward; his speed is unbelievable. He scored most of the goals last year for us. He was a part of the Southeast Iowa Soccer Conference Team,” states Coach Luis Cacho.
- Eduardo Piedra, Columbus Community High School-Forward
- Eduardo comes to SCC as a very productive offensive player with 25 goals and 10 assists as a senior. He is strong offensively and his technical and tactics are very solid. His movement on and off the ball are quick and strong. Eduardo was player of the year 2009 for the Southeast Iowa Soccer Conference. Eduardo is will be getting his degree in Industrial Maintenance.
- Markees Serrano, North High School-Defender
- Markees is a confident defensive player and shows a very strong tactical knowledge of the game and will help with the organization of the defense. Markees has a goal and 9 assists as a senior and transfers in from Dubuque College where he played mostly as an outside back. Markees plans to study Business Administration.
