Baseball has been a part of Muscatine Junior/Community College since 1941 and we'd like to share that history with today's players, students and fans.
Are you an MCC alumni, a former player, or someone who has attended games at Bruner Field? Do you have pictures, postcards or other memorabilia? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Julio C. Torrente - Class of 1987
It gives me great pleasure to write you this quick email to express my most sincere gratitude in having such a nice web page on MCC baseball. I live in Miami Florida and played for MCC back in 86 and 87.
They were a couple of years of fond memories that will always stay with me. We were a group of five baseball players from Miami Florida who flew up to Muscatine on baseball scholarships with then baseball coach Tim Strellner.
Again the community, school, baseball was all worth it. What a truly growing experience for all of us.
It would be nice to hopefully add my fond memories to the web site to not only express my feelings but at the same time maybe touch bases with some former players that make Iowa their homes.
Paul Painter - Class of 1980
"I was a player from 79-80. My fondest memories in Bruner Field was hitting a game winning double against Indian Hills in a game Barry Stonesifer had a no-hitter going into the last inning until Indian Hills scored 4 runs to take the lead. My double in the last inning won the game.
That same year we beat Indian Hills again in the regional tournament when Mike Morsch hit a game winning home run. I also played for the Indianapolis Clowns and we played many games on Tom Bruner field. I was the youngest player to play for them in 1977 (16 yrs old).
"Excellent web site. I really enjoyed it. Thank you very much."
Dale Slater - 1993-94
"I pitched for Nick (Zumsande) and helped take us to our very first NJCAA World Series in 1994. My biggest memory of Muscatine Baseball, besides it being the best time of my life, was watching Shane Keyton start out the 1994 baseball season 0-3 only to redeem himself and win 9 games straight to have a final pitching record of 9-3 for the season. He was amazing that last half of the year."
Ted Goecke - 1966-67
"I played for MCC around 1966-67. We had a pitcher named Steve Weber who, I believe, went onto a Div.I school, who ended up being head coach at the University of Georgia when they won the College World Series. He was from Keosuqua, if I remember right. I think he's in the Yankee orgaization now. We had several players go onto Div. I careers off that team."
