SKILLS CENTER 
 
The Skills Center is located in Loper Hall.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday         8:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Friday                              8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
 
The following services are available through the Skills Center:
Peer Tutors: Student tutors are available at no cost. Sign up is in the Skills Center and students may work 1-3 hours per week with the tutor in the Skills Center.
Make-up tests: If you need to make up a test for an instructor, please make an appointment by calling the Skills Center.

Other testing: CLEP, GED, and ASSET tests are given by appointment.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT COORDINATOR 
 
The office of Academic Achievement Coordinator, Kathy Trosen, is located in the Student Center. This service will provide support for any student experiencing barriers to academic success. These barriers could include (but are not limited to) physical or learning disabilities, limited English skills, reading, math, spelling or writing problems. The main focus is student advocacy. ATHLETIC ACADEMIC ADVISOR 
 
Linda Mowl, the Athletic Academic Advisor, has an office in Loper Hall, Room 225. Linda advises and monitors the academic progress of student-athletes, supervises study tables, mentors student-athletes, and assists students with life skills. Contact Linda at (563) 288-6055. 

 
COUNSELING~ADVISING OFFICE 
 
The counseling office is located across from registration in the Student Center.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday        
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday                                                     
8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
 
MCC's counseling and advising staff are available to assist with academic, career and/or personal concerns. Counselors and/or advisors are available on a walk-in basis, but appointments are recommended. Academic Advisor Jennifer Bertrand can be reached at (563) 288-6010 and Academic Advisor Shelly Cram Rahlf can be reached at (563) 288-6164. 
  
 
JOB PLACEMENT~CAREER DEVELOPMENT 
 
MCC has a placement program providing services to both students and alumni who are seeking full or part-time employment. In addition to posting vacancies, we offer a number of interest inventories and other career assessment tools that can help focus on potential college majors and career fields.

Most of the career assessment instruments are available at no charge. For assistance with resume building, job placement and career information, contact Jennifer Bertrand at (563) 288-6010. Her hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and evenings by appointment.
