Illinois Valley Central shortstop signs with MCC 

Trever Black has signed a national letter of intent with Muscatine CC to play baseball in 2012. He is the starting shortstop and leadoff hitter on the IVC Grey Ghosts baseball team that finished third in the Illinois State High School tournament last year. He earned first team All-Conference honors as a junior. He hit .398 with 11 doubles, 3 triples and 2 HR’s.

“We are very fortunate to have signed a player of Trever’s caliber. He is very good defensively, runs well, possesses a strong arm and has quick hands with the bat. He is also a very good student. Trever will have an opportunity to compete for a starting middle infield position in the fall,” according to head coach Dave Barb.
