Wimpey signs letter of intent

Clinton Community College (CCC) women’s volleyball coach Joe Shovlain has announced that Ashley Wimpey, an East Central High School senior, has signed a NJCAA National Letter of Intent and Scholarship agreement to continue her volleyball career at Clinton Community College.

Wimpey, a three-year varsity starter, was a 5’7” outside hitter for East Central. She was named to the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Excellence in Academic Achievement Award all four of her high school years.  

Wimpey was named all tournament in the Raider volleyball tournament and has been involved in many other activities at East Central including National Honor Society and Girls State. The daughter of Dwayne and Rebecca Wimpey of Miles, she plans to major in pre-nursing at Clinton Community College.

“We are excited Ashley chose CCC to continue her volleyball career," said Shovlain. "Ashley is a very good volleyball player as well as an excellent student. She will be a great fit for our program.”
