Don't have time? Go online.

It's a busy, hectic life that we lead today. After working for a living and spending time with the family, people often have little time left in the day to go to school.

Well, don't worry, help is at hand. Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges offer a vast assortment of online, short-term, training classes that can help you learn a specific job skill for a current position, or take your career in an entirely new direction.

These are non-credit/non-degree courses that you can take any time and anywhere you are near a computer, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Courses are offered in cooperation with Education to Go, ACT and Gatlin Education Services, three nationwide educational providers. There are literally hundreds of classes available; here's just an example:

  • Colleges offer wide range of credit and non-credit online classesComputer applications (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Webpage design
  • Digital photography
  • Supervision and management
  • Paralegal preparation
  • Home Inspector career certificate
  • Industrial technology
  • Safety
  • Project and financial management
  • Administrative medical specialist
  • Advanced hospital coding
  • Medical transcription
  • Pharmacy technician
  • Travel agent
  • Wedding planner

The style of class delivery varies, depending on which of the three national providers is delivering the course. In most cases you complete and submit your work online, and an instructor will work with the students throughout the length of the class. In addition, chat rooms and bulletin boards make it possible for students to (virtually) get to know each other and share their work and questions.

We also offer a full Associate in Arts degree program online.

Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges cooperate with a consortium of Iowa community colleges to make it possible to earn your Associate in Arts degree entirely online. In addition, the colleges have transfer agreements with four-year institutions that make it possible for you to earn your Bachelor's degree online as well.
