
Median hourly earning of automotive body and related repairers, including incentive pay, were $16.68 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $12.55 and $22.04 an hour. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $9.42, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $28.45 an hour.

repairers were $17.73 in automobile dealers and $16.44 in
automotive repair and maintenance. Scott Community College
graduates have a 67% placement rate and earned an average flat rate
of $23,746. Bonus points could increase this amount between
$26,000-$28,000.
According to a national survey conducted by the Inter-industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (ICAR), the Auto Collision Repair industry will need 50,000 entry-level technicians a year.
Currently 10,000 people are capable of filling those positions. This leaves a shortfall of 40,000 technicians annually.
