Scott Community College
Program
Description
Scott Community College and Palmer College of Chiropractic, are
working together to offer a "Joint Admissions Program".
Scott Community College (SCC) should be your first stop before
heading to Palmer College of Chiropractic. Scott offers a real
advantage, with classes designed specifically for future Palmer
College students.
The two colleges have had a formal transfer agreement since 1979
when Palmer College relinquished its liberal arts curriculum to
Scott Community College. This collaboration has allowed each
institution to better concentrate on their academic specialties,
resulting in a more beneficial education for the student of
chiropractic.
Transfer & Joint Admissions
Agreements
Our transfer agreement allows students who follow the prescribed
outline of courses and successfully complete our pre-chiropractic
program to transfer directly into Palmer College of
Chiropractic.
In addition, students taking advantage of our Joint Admissions
Agreement can be accepted for admission at both colleges,
simultaneously. This increases your level of comfort with Palmer
and assists you in completing admission, housing and financial
aid information.
You'll also begin receiving information on sports and cultural
activities associated with Palmer, and can attend those social
activities and feel a part of campus life immediately.
How the Program Works
Students applying to Clinton, Muscatine or
Scott Community College should complete and submit the EICCD
application for admission along with an official high school
transcript.
After admission to Clinton, Muscatine or Scott, complete and return
the Application for Joint Admission and return the application
to Palmer College.
The Application for Joint Admission may be completed any time
prior to earning 30 semester hours (sophomore status). You will be
required to meet with the campus Articulation
Coordinator.
The final decision for acceptance at Palmer will be made by
Palmer's admission's department.
Palmer will mail you a notice of acceptance into the Joint
Admission Program. Program requirements will be outlined and you
will be given instructions on how to maintain your eligibility.
Before your last semester at Scott Community College, send an
Application for Admission to Palmer. (We strongly recommend that
you apply a year ahead of your enrollment date.)
The program requirements for a bachelor's degree at Palmer you will
attend after Clinton, Muscatine or Scott will be those in effect at
the time you are accepted into the Joint Admission Program. (For
specific guidelines, contact Palmer's Admissions Office.)
