Everyone can learn something new and better prepare themselves for the job market.
It’s not unusual though for individuals, especially adults who have been out of school for a while, to need to brush up on their skills. We all get rusty and forget things if we don’t use them on a regular basis.
Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges are uniquely positioned to help people improve those rusty skills and prepare them for either a new job or advancement at their current position.
CareerLink Essentials+ is a quick, four-week, training program providing individuals with the basic skills required by employers. We know these are the skills employers are looking for because the program was created in partnership with, and continues to work closely with, many area manufacturers.
Adult Basic Education classes are those for those who need to improve skills in a specific subject matter. These free classes are designed for adults and include reading, writing, speaking and math.
For those who did not complete high school, we offer classes to help them earn their GED (high school equivalency diploma.
And for people for whom English is not their native language, our English as a Second Language classes can help them to improve.

Persons seeking to meet the Iowa High School Equivalency Diploma requirements should be aware of companies that claim to offer the Test of General Educational Development (GED) over the Internet or through correspondence courses.
There are no online or correspondence testing programs recognized by the General Educational Development Testing Service (GEDTS) of the American Council of Education (ACE). Persons can ONLY take the Official GED Test Battery at an approved Iowa GED test center.
