The Université de Savoie is located in the town of Chambéry, in the heart of the French Alps.
Program Overview:
The Université de Savoie offers a six-week immersion experience in the town of Chambéry, located in the heart of the French Alps. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced level courses are provided by the ISEFE at the Université de Savoie, an institute that specializes in teaching French as a foreign language. The program includes 15 hours per week of small-group instruction, 3 hours per week of monitored language lab, and three workshops on aspects of local life (108 total hours of instruction, including lab; usually 5 – 6 US credits, depending on the home university's transfer policy). Language level is determined by a placement test before arrival.
Various excursions have been organized at minimal cost to the student to different nearby towns including Geneva, Nice, Chamonix, Turin, and Lyon. On campus, most afternoons include a comprehensive range of organized sporting or leisure activities.
