Eastern Iowa Community Colleges – Muscatine campus is seeking Part Time Instructors for Journalism, Welding, CNC, and Engineering Technology.

Qualifications for Journalism instructor will include:

  • Master's degree in Journalism or a master's degree with at least 18 GSH in a combination of the qualifying fields, to include at least 12 GSH in Journalism-focused courses.

 

Qualifications for Welding instructors will include:

  • Associate of Arts degree in Welding required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 yrs. proven work experience or relevant Journeyman’s card.
  • 6,000 hours of relevant and recent work experience in welding field required.
  • AWS CWI/CWE credentials and AWS D1.1 welding certifications preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, metallurgy, applied math, blueprint reading and reading welding symbols.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, days or evenings.

 

Qualifications for Engineering Technology instructors will include:

  • Associate of Arts degree in specific content area required. Bachelor’s degree in specific content preferred.
  • Minimally three years of relevant experience required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in electronics, hydraulics/pneumatics, advanced Programmable Logic Controllers, automation, industrial robotics and motion control.
  • 6,000 hours of relevant and recent work experience in machining field required.
  • Successful candidate should possess the ability to utilize technology-based instructional tools and understand teaching in on-line and hybrid environments.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, days or evenings.

 

Qualifications for CNC instructors will include:

  • Associate of Arts degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimally three years of experience required or relevant Journeyman’s card.
  • NIMS/MSSC credentials preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in G&M code programming, CAD/CAM, metallurgy, operation of CNC machine centers, manual and tool & die machining, applied math and blueprint reading.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, days or evenings.

Adjunct faculty needed in the following areas:

Veterinary Technology

  • Requires a Certified Veterinary Technician with five years of work experience, or a DVM.

Developmental Math Instructor

  • Requires math training background; math teaching experience preferred.
